江苏省级启东长江水系中华绒螯蟹原种场、东元育苗基地是省内的原种育苗基地，本场利用长江洄游抱仔蟹和经过提纯复壮的大规格蟹做亲本，规格超国标（雄180克以上、雌130克以上），本基地蟹苗都是由露天土池培养长成，采用藻类、光合菌、轮虫等活性饵料培育，绿色、天然、无污染、施药少、健壮、体大、成活率高，回捕率高，是其它苗种无可比拟、望尘莫及的。本基地的产品主要有大眼幼体、豆蟹、扣蟹、梭子蟹、青虾。
